NFL Week 7 Best Bets

NFL Week 7 Best BetsThere are still three NFL teams that have yet to lose a game entering Week 7 action. Two of them, Pittsburgh and Tennessee, play each other, so that number is likely to decrease. The other one, Seattle, takes on the 4-2 Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix.

The other "perfect" record belongs to the 0-6 New York Jets, who host the Buffalo Bills. The Jets' problem is on the offensive side of the ball, as they're scoring a league-low 10.8 points per game. They're giving up a respectable 21.8 points a game, 11th in the league.

No Respect

Sports bettors know the Chicago Bears continue to win, coming off an upset 23-16 win at Carolina to climb to 5-1. They keep reeling off wins and have risen to the lead in the tough NFC North. The Bears have odds of +3000 to win the Super Bowl, compared to +400 for the defending champion Chiefs.

This week, the Bears head west to face the 4-2 Los Angeles Rams as 5.5-point underdogs. The Rams are coming off a disappointing 24-16 loss to San Francisco as 3.5-point road favorites. Chicago has been able to win close games, so bet against it at your peril.

Drama in Big D

After a 38-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the 2-4 Dallas Cowboys appear to be in panic mode. They face 1-5 Washington as slim one-point favorites in what could be a battle for the division lead. So far in 2020, the Cowboys have failed to cover a spread.

Dallas was hoping former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton could bring some stability after Dak Prescott was lost for the season. Dalton was ineffective in the loss to the Cardinals, and running back Ezekiel Elliott lost two fumbles. If Dallas' offense can get back on track, Washington won't be able to keep up with them.

Here’s a good question. Should NFL bettors bet the over/under?

Battle of the Unbeatens

Pittsburgh and Tennessee were supposed to meet in NFL Week 4, but the game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Instead of meeting with identical 3-0 records, the teams now sport marks of 5-0. The Steelers are winning by 12.4 points a game and have the second-highest point differential in the league.

Both of these teams are scoring more than 30 points a game. But the two-point favorite Steelers are giving up about a touchdown less per game than the Titans.

Tennessee gave up 36 points to the 1-5 Texans last week in a wild overtime win. Against the spread, the Steelers are 4-1, while the Titans are 2-3.

The Steelers are playing as well as any team in the NFL right now. They destroyed the Cleveland Browns 38-7 last week. Defensively, they're downright scary, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is playing very well coming off last year's injury.

Tennessee will need to find a way to protect quarterback Ryan Tannehill to have a chance against Pittsburgh.

The Titans will also have to slow down the balanced Pittsburgh offense, which is averaging 374 yards a game. Tennessee's defense allows over 400 yards a game in total offense, not a good formula against the Steelers. After Sunday, there will be one undefeated team in the AFC, and it hails from Pittsburgh.
