Super Bowl LV Odds to WinWith the 2020 NFL regular season about to start, it’s time for another look at the Super Bowl LV futures market. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs are still the favorite to win a second consecutive Lombardi Trophy.

AMERICA’S BOOKIE WEEKLY FOOTBALL SQUARES CONTEST IS BACK

If you’ve been following trending football news, there has been a number of offseason moves and a variety of players that have opted out of the 2020 season due to coronavirus concerns, the 2020 NFL season should prove to be interesting. Here’s a look at how the odds to win Super Bowl LV are shaping up.

Can Chiefs Repeat?

With their win over San Francisco last year, Kansas City captured its first Super Bowl title in 50 years. The Chiefs have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL led by Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Kansas City returns TE Travis Kelce and wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins. RB Damien Williams opted out of the 2020 NFL season, but the Chiefs drafted former LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to fill his shoes.

The Chiefs were much-improved on defense in 2019 thanks to new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. He returns as does much of the defensive roster.

That is why KC is favored at +515 to win consecutive Super Bowls. It doesn’t happen often. The last team to repeat as Super Bowl champion was New England in 2003 and 2004.

The Challenger

Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson is the returning NFL MVP after setting a league record for rushing yards by a quarterback and leading the NFL in passing touchdowns. He returns to guide a run-heavy offense that led the league at over 200 yards per game on the ground.

Running back Mark Ingram is back and the Ravens drafted Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins as another weapon.

The defense is always stout in Baltimore which is why the Ravens are listed at +600 to win Super Bowl LV. Remember, Baltimore went 14-2 in the regular season a year ago.

The Super Bowl Surprise

Some bettors might have thought that last year’s Super Bowl loser San Francisco or three-time NFC South Division champ New Orleans would be next on the list. Those bettors would be wrong.

Listed at +950, Tampa Bay is among the favorites to win a Super Bowl. The Buccaneers haven’t even been to the playoffs in the last 12 seasons. That’s the difference that Tom Brady can have on a franchise.

Brady was signed as a free agent in the offseason and the Bucs’ odds to win the division, the conference, and the Super Bowl instantly improved.

The Bucs offense, which includes Brady’s former teammate TE Rob Gronkowski and two 1,000-yard receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, should be outstanding. It’s the defense, one that gave up over 28 points a game last year, that is the question mark.

The Sleepers

San Francisco (+1000) and New Orleans (+1100) are solid picks as both have rosters capable of winning a Super Bowl. The 49ers were within six minutes of winning it last year. With such an expanded betting board, there is no shortage of wagering options.

Never count out Saints QB Drew Brees. He’s got a great supporting cast with record-setting WR Michael Thomas and RB Alvin Kamara. The Saints defense isn’t San Francisco’s, but it’s good enough.

The big sleepers in the mix are Pittsburgh (+2200) and Minnesota (+2400). The Steelers will have QB Ben Roethlisberger back and one of the easier schedules in the league. The Vikings have a top five defense and an offense led by underrated QB Kirk Cousins.

The Vikings won their wild card game last year but lost 27-10 to the 49ers in the divisional round. Minnesota has the horses to get back into the same position and go even further in 2020.
