Pay Per Head Basketball News – USA Basketball after Disappointing World Cup

USA Basketball had a very disappointing performance in the FIBA World Cup. In fact, the team didn’t even reach the medal rounds. They lost to Frances in the quarterfinals to end the country’s winning streak of seven international tournaments.

Managing director Jerry Colangelo told betting software news reporters that he will not forget the players who backed out of their commitments to participate in the World Cup. He will keep the list in mind when creating the roster for the 2020 Olympics.

Out of the 35 players initially selected for the USA Basketball pool, only four played in the World Cup. Colangelo described those who backed out as people he thought were going to war with but failed to show up.

USA Basketball Rebuilding Process

USA Basketball got commitments from many players. That’s why the organization was confident they can win in China. However, pay per head provider didn’t expect many players will not honor their commitment to play in the World Cup.

The USA lost to Serbia Thursday, which gives the nation its worst finish in a major basketball tournament. Its previous worst finish was sixth at the 2002 world championships. Despite the bad showing, the coaching staff insisted the group deserved better for their efforts.

According to bookie pay per head sources, most players cited conflicts in their schedule as a reason they backed out from the national squad. Some players have injuries, which give them a valid excuse.

Some players want to bond with their new teams during the off-season. The new international basketball schedule makes it difficult for professional players to commit fully to the process. It is the first time the World Cup and Olympics take place in two straight years.

According to sports news, more than 50 players signed up for USA Basketball this summer. 12 went with the team to China. Two players were cut after the first week of training camp. More than three dozens left on their own.
